  • The company said they are unable to broadcast live due to the technical issue

Sky Sports News has crashed following a massive global tech failure involving Microsoft systems.

The outage has sparked chaos around the world, grounding flights and knocking hospitals, train services, banks, stock exchanges and TV channels offline.

With Windows being one of the most used operating systems in the world, the outage is affecting almost every part of the global economy.

Sky News has also been affected by the outage, with their main news and sports channels currently down.

Seeing the funny side, presenter Matt Kabir Floyd tweeted: 'Sky Sports News also affected by this global Microsoft situation…nothing really working.. not sure when or if we'll come on air…thank god I woke up at 3.30.'

Sports Broadcaster Hayley McQueen also posted on social media: 'Here at @SkySportsNews we are not on air, apologies if you're tuning in to see our output which is last nights news.

'Our live sports continues however on @SkySportsGolf & @SkyCricket today.'

The company then wrote on X: 'Due to a global technical issue, Sky Sports News is currently unable to broadcast live.

'For all the latest sports news, scores and action, go to the Sky Sports app or website.'
